Beijing is prepared to take military action to prevent any attempt to separate Taiwan from the mainland, Chinese Defense Minister Wei Fenghe has said.
According to Reuters and other news agencies, Wei also said on Thursday: “The Taiwan issue is related to China’s sovereignty and touches upon China’s core interests … on this issue, it is extremely dangerous to challenge China’s bottom line.”
That line would be if Taiwan, now known officially as the Republic of China, declared itself as the Republic of Taiwan.
Beijing’s relations with Taipei have been particularly strained since the island’s president, Tsai Ing-wen of the pro-independence Democratic Progressive Party, came to power in 2016.
Wei’s warning came three days after the United States sent two warships through the Taiwan Strait, the latest of gestures made by Washington in support of Taiwan, a democracy with an elected legislature and government.
Wei also touched on the situation in the South China Sea, where China’s claims are disputed by several neighboring countries. Wei said China opposes displays of strength and “provocations” from countries outside the region under the “pretense” of protecting freedom of flight and navigation.
The US routinely sends warships and military aircraft to the South China Sea to protect what it calls freedom of navigation in international waters.
If China were to try to take over Taiwan, it is likely, according to some sinologists, to be in 2021, the 100th anniversary of the founding of the ruling Communist Party of China.

Secessionists orders the Island’s military to use force to maintain order. Marshal law in otger words. The orders are to shoot if necessary. Gunfights erupts throughout the Island. Thousands killed and wounded. The Island now in complete disarray and disorder.
The secessionists are now overwhelmed and losing hold and control of the Island.
Fearing that pro-reunification forces will become victorious, Sam steps in with his boots, designate these boots as observers and military consultants
Beijing says “NO WAY”. She sends in loads and loads of volunteers, civilians herself to keep the peace in the Island. Fire fights erupts between these volunteers and the secessionists. Now, things are really getting ugly.
Fearing a direct confrontation between each other, Sam pulls his booties out letting the secessionists fend for themselves
Secessionists now on their own. In efforts to show Beijing that it will not bow to Beijing’s pressure, the secessionists orders a full scale military assault on Chinese assets that was watching over Sam’s armada out at sea. A number of Beijing’s assets was heavily damaged.
In response to this frontal assault, Beijing ordered all military bases, and all military facilities on the Island taken out. The military machinary of the Island is now in completely disarray is disfunction.
Sam took Beijing’s reponse to the UN and call for a cease fire, now Beijing is in a full war mode with Sam. She outright rejected the proposal. The bombardment continues to root secessionists hot spots.
Ultimately, Sam hatched a scheme. She forces the successionusts to accept a one country two system solution as is with Hong Kong cos they are not going going to risk a brawl with Beijing which’ll has the potentials of leveling cities such as Qingdao, and, similarly, visa versa Sam’s homeland for a bunch of brain deads
Successionists now have no option but to agree to the proposed resolution. Beijing accepted as well because she does not wish to cause harm and hardship on its own people, even though these people does not wish to be identufied as Chinese.
Following this confrontation, Sam and China finally came to a full and complete understanding of one another’s the interests. Friendhip prevails and trade between the two trippled and quadrupled…
