A teacher at an international school in Pokfulam on Hong Kong Island was sent to hospital after she attempted to jump from a school building on Monday.
The teacher, 36, who taught Chinese language, was found standing on the rooftop of the West Island School at 1pm and seen to be in an emotional state, Oriental Daily reported.
Other teachers reported the case to the school management and police.
Firefighters and policemen talked to her and the woman returned to a safe area.
It was understood that the woman had earlier applied for three weeks of sick leave. It was suspected that she was under pressure or emotionally distressed after resuming work.
Police will further investigate the actual cause. They classed the case as an attempted suicide.
West Island School is run by the largest international school organization, English Schools Foundation (ESF).
An ESF spokesperson said they would provide all necessary assistance to the teacher.
In March, a 48-year-old primary school teacher, believed to have been under work-related stress, died after jumping from a school building in Tin Shui Wai. She was made to work while she was unwell just before her death.
The tragedy provoked a strong public outcry about the pressure Hong Kong teachers face in the local education system.
