Ang mga Pilipino na lumipad sa trabaho sa Japan ay makakatanggap ng suweldo na katumbas sa mga lokal na manggagawa, ayon sa isang opisyal ng pamahalaan.
Sinabi ni Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III na ang kamakailang nilagdaan ng memorandum of cooperation ng Pilipinas at Japan ay magagarantiyahan ng mas mahusay na suweldo para sa mga manggagawang Pilipino, ayon sa Manila Standard.
“Ito ang dahilan kung bakit kami ay nagpapasalamat sa gobyerno ng Japan. Bukod sa pagbibigay ng espesyal na priyoridad sa mga manggagawang Pilipino para sa mga pangangailangan ng kanilang mga industriya, ang aming mga manggagawa ay nakatiyak ng mas mahusay na benepisyo, “sabi ni Bello.
Sinabi ni Bello na ang Pilipinas ang unang bansa na pumirma sa naturang pakikitungo sa Tokyo dahil sa mataas na pagsasaalang-alang ng mga Pilipino.
Ang bagong batas ng skilled-worker residency ng Japan ay inaasahang makikinabang sa hindi bababa sa 100,000 migrante Pilipino, na kakailanganin upang magtrabaho sa mga sektor tulad ng pangangalagang pangkalusugan, pagpapanatili ng gusali, mga serbisyo sa pagkain, pang-industriyang makinarya, electronics, paggawa ng pagkain, agrikultura, hospitality, construction, paggawa ng barko , pangisdaan at aquacultures, mga bahagi at kagamitan at abyasyon.
Sinabi ng Philippine Overseas Employment Administration na maglalabas ito ng isang listahan ng mga lisensyadong ahensya na awtorisadong makikilahok sa pagrerekrut at paglalagay ng tinukoy na mga skilled workers.
