Người đàn ông Việt Nam 57 tuổi đã bị bắt hôm thứ Tư vì bị cáo buộc trồng cần sa trong một căn hộ ở Cửu Long. Vào lúc 4 giờ chiều, sau khi được chỉ điểm, cảnh sát thuộc đơn vị đặc nhiệm của Trụ sở Cảnh sát Tây Cửu Long đã đột kích một căn hộ ở đường Tung Choi, Mong Kok và phát hiện 50 cây cần sa được trồng trong một khu vực rộng 55 mét vuông, Oriental Daily đưa tin .

Tổng cộng có 4.2 kg cần sa ước tính trị giá ít nhất 1,5 triệu đô la Hồng Kông (191.183 đô la mỹ ) cũng bị tịch thu. Cảnh sát đã bắt giữ một người đàn ông 57 tuổi, được cho là người Việt Nam nhập cư trái phép, vì bị cáo buộc trồng cần sa và nhập cảnh bất hợp pháp.

Cảnh sát cũng tịch thu đèn, đất và phân bón, hệ thống thông gió, hệ thống tưới nước và điều hòa không khí mà họ tin rằng nghi phạm dùng để trồng cần sa lậu. Ông này đã ở sống ở đây sáu tháng, một phát ngôn viên cảnh sát cho biết.

Cảnh sát cho biết trại cần sa đã hoạt động được hai tháng. Họ tin rằng người đàn ông thuê căn hộ và cũng sống luôn ở đó, Sing Tao Daily đưa tin. Cảnh sát đang điều tra những người liên quan đến nơi trồng cần sa vì họ tin rằng cần sa được bán tại các cơ sở giải trí ở Tây Cửu Long.
