Malaysian police were searching for a 31-year-old Indonesian worker who allegedly killed a 44-year-old woman and severely injured the woman’s 14-year-old son and 17-year-old nephew at a frozen food factory in Kepala Batas, Penang, on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident happened at about 4 pm at Kampung Selamat, when the factory owner’s sister Sia Seok Kee, her son Yong Wei Keong and nephew Sia Yung Jern were brutally attacked with a machete, the Sin Chew Daily (Malaysia) reported.
The three were attacked and left lying in pools of blood in the cold room of the factory. All three were rushed to the Kepala Batas Hospital. However, the woman died on the way to the hospital, while the two teenage boys were seriously injured and were in critical condition.
A preliminary police investigation suggested the brutal attack was due to the suspect’s dissatisfaction as he had allegedly not been paid a salary for the work he did last year.
Police are appealing for public assistance and say the suspect escaped on a blue motorcycle.
