A 60-year-old mainland Chinese man pleaded not guilty in the Kowloon City Magistrates’ Court on Friday to one count of indecent assault on a Filipina domestic worker.
The court heard that He Shisheng, a Chinese doctor, came to Hong Kong with his wife from mainland China to visit a friend in August and stayed at his friend’s luxury apartment where the Filipina domestic worker was employed, Sing Tao Daily reported.
The 28-year-old Filipina told the court from behind a screen to protect her identity that she returned to her room after taking a shower at about 9 pm on August 23.
When she sat on her bed, the defendant came to her room and showed her a phone with the word “massage” on it.
She told him in English she did not need a massage, but the man ignored her. She said she was scared and said “No! No!” and tried to get away when the man put his hands on her shoulders.
The defendant then pushed her on the bed and indecently assaulted her five times. She turned on her mobile phone camera and secretly took a video of the man. When the man discovered she was taking a video, he left the room immediately.
A video clip aired in the court showed the man surfing his phone beside her. The defense lawyer questioned why the woman was not showing any resistance in the video clip, the Oriental Daily reported.
She said she did not call for help because she did not know if the defendant’s wife or any other person would help her, adding that she was concerned for her own safety.
The trial will continue on Monday.
