More than 100,000 teaching positions are being offered to Filipinos to help students in China to learn English. Dr Zhang Hang, a Chinese language teacher and researcher at the College of International Relations of Huaqiao University, said many Chinese nationals can barely understand, much less speak English, The Filipino Times reported.
Dr Hang, speaking to students and young professionals joining the China-Philippines Youth Exchange Program, said the Philippines is known for its excellent English education program. He said that both countries can work together on education exchanges and strengthen China-Philippines relations.
In April, both countries were working on an agreement that would allow thousands of Filipinos to work in China teaching English. Chito Sta. Romana, the Philippines’ ambassador to China, said there is a growing demand to learn English in China.
Filipinos interested in working in China as English teachers should have a bachelor’s degree, a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification, two years of work experience, be a native English speaker and should be between the ages of 24 and 55.
I bet Phillipino teachers will be better respected , rewarded, treated and protected in China than in Middle Eastern (ME) countries , by their employers. In ME employers treat workers from abroad very badly- beating, overtime excess work, demanding sexual favours from females, and even torturing them is very very common.
Chinese are gentlemen and others as complete EQUALS.

Long term Chinese goal and strategy to INCUBATE, NURTURE, REDIRECT, STEER, and TILT Pinoy sentiments towards a lip and teeth type Filipinos-Chinese relationship. We have the means https://youtu.be/YiydlTwBxY4 to do so. I mean that’s what I would do if were Beijing but then again that’s not a guarantee that that’s what Beijing is thinking.

One of the requirements is to be a ‘native English speaker’ does that exclude Filipinos as I thought English was not a native language in the PhilippinesPhilippines but a second, taught, language?

C’mon…. How perfect can Pinoy Englush be?
Look. plenty ABC’s, CBC’s, probably AussieBC’s and more who’ll be perfect for that job as they are buligual. But
Pinky teachers for English? Give me a break.
Like I said, that’s a political carrot stick to bring Pinoys into our camp and given the variables and the opportunities, it’ll likely work for both people…

Like I said, that amounts to a political carrot stick to help fuse Pinoys demographics together with Chinese and given the variables, and the opportunities, it’ll likely work wonders for both country and people…
