Washington has slashed additional aid to the Palestinians for programs supporting conflict resolution with the Israelis, an official said Sunday. The latest reduction is on top of more than $500 million in other cuts.
The latest cuts come from $10 million in reconciliation programs involving Palestinians as well as Jewish and Arab Israelis, AFP reported.
A US embassy official said the portion of the money allocated for Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip was being redirected to programs for Jewish and Arab Israelis.
“As announced in August, the administration redirected more than $200 million that was originally planned for programs in the West Bank and Gaza,” a US embassy official said. “At the same time, we redirected a portion of the $10 million which was planned for conflict management and mitigation.”
The official said the portion involving Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza would instead be used “to enhance” programs in Israel. It remains unclear exactly how much of the $10 million is being redirected.
US President Donald Trump has said he will deny aid to the Palestinians to pressure them to negotiate as the White House prepares a new plan for Middle East peace, which he has dubbed the “ultimate deal.”
For all intents and purposes, the U.S. can now be considered a
polital arm of Israel. This is both unheard of and dangerous. Isreal
has become an Ameican supported bully in the Middle East, as
we mirror their agenda, which is to destroy Palestine and
Palestinians. With the exception of the criminal Saudis, the bulk
of Arabs may have something to say and do about that. Stock up
on food and drink.
The guy is one trick pony, try to use any means to take down the other guy then make favorable deals on own terms, its evident in all his dealings whether its local officals or business partners of his golf course, his underlings in the white house, the current running trade war or the palestanian issue . Such methodology can be tolerated in some business circles but on international level this is one quick way to head to national conflicts of old. Trump and by that extension US is an international threat.
There’s only one thing left to do, take down US’s international position and influence down couple notches to limit what Trump can affect. Europe seems already got the message and is building new allies. Palestanians can hold out a while I’m sure situation will change for them. It’s also in Palestanian’s benefit to finally throw off the fake US arbiter and hush money to seek more solid foundation for their cause.
