A Filipina maid was fired after her employer slipped on a wet floor and was taken to hospital in Hong Kong on Monday. The 49-year-old Filipina had just mopped the floor at her employer’s home in Kowloon’s Tsim Sha Tsui on Monday, the Sing Tao Daily reported.
The female employer, who suffered a head injury, reported the case to police and was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. After being discharged from hospital, she fired the maid.
Cheung Kit-man, the chairman of the Hong Kong Employment Agencies Association, said if employers were not happy with their domestic workers they should issue a verbal warning or send a warning letter before dismissing them.

These few days is high in humidity, and as we all know, when u mop the floor, the floor will be more wet, why you blame the maid about your carelessness? Slipping to wet floor is an accident!!!

Employers are always right? I hope the govt should impose a fair policy for both the employer and the maid. This is unreasonable. Some employers keep walking even when they know the floor had just been mop. Is that not a stupid act?
