A 28-year-old Filipino domestic worker was arrested in the Shatin area of Hong Kong’s New Territories on Wednesday for allegedly ill-treating a 16-month-old girl.
News website HK01.com reports that at 11pm, a 34-year-old man surnamed Yiu took his daughter to Prince of Wales Hospital as the girl had a head injury.
The father reported to police at the hospital that he suspected the family’s domestic worker of dropping the girl to the ground and hurting her head at their flat in Yu Man House, Yu Chui Court.
Police officers from the Shatin Police station subsequently arrested the domestic worker. The case has been classed as ill-treatment or neglect by a person in charge of a child or young person. Further investigations are pending.
According to Oriental Daily, the domestic worker is a Filipina.

Even if you really focus looking at the child you can’t avoid that sometimes they might fall or whatsoever.as you have said accident might happen any minute..employer must understand that…
The only thing that helpers fault is maybe she didn’t inform the employer what was happen earlier

As far as I am concerned helpers are much more careful to their wards than the parents.
One time both my employers are minding their daughter and suddenly she fell from bed. She got bruises when I return from my day off and I sometimes scold them. Parang ate lang si ako.

Sobra kayo mga amo, ako nga na butbit ko si baby na nagluluto dahil ayaw ninyo alagaan ang anak ninyo….at pag naaksidente ang bata, katulong agad ang dahilan, huhuhu….. it’s the parents who are really irresponsible…. I’d already experienced that I’m working day and night.

Until it’s not proven.. then the helper is not not guilty, she did not do a crime.
Of course the police can arrest her but there will be a further investigation. So don’t worry… It’s just an accusation. The law before to prove if there is a foul play.
