A Vietnamese woman reunited with her family after she was reported missing two years ago has revealed she missed her children so much that she secretly visited them at their schools.

The 35-year-old woman left the family home at Kaohsiung City in 2016 after having a heated argument with her husband, a Taiwanese national called Cho, 39, who informed the police she was missing.

She was stopped by officers during a routine identify check on Zhongxiao Road, Alian District, at 7:14pm on February 19, Taiwan Times reported, and the system flagged that she was a missing person. Police persuaded the woman it was time to forgive her husband and rejoin her family.

Expressing his gratitude for the kind assistance of the police, Cho described her homecoming as the best gift he had ever received for the Lunar New Year.
