The Philippines Embassy in Riyadh has rejected claims of poor service by an overseas Filipino worker (OFW), who had complained that some staff ignored Filipinos waiting to have passport applications processed.
Carla Chris V. Davis, an OFW in Buraidah, put a post on Facebook on Saturday saying that only one member of staff was serving customers.
However, the embassy issued a statement dismissing the claim as baseless, adding that personnel “have always been committed to serve its clients with professionalism, dedication and hard work”.
The embassy said that the number of passport applications waiting to be processed had risen on January 3 and January 4 because President Rodrigo Duterte had ordered that government work be suspended from December 26 until January 2.
“In compliance with the president’s instruction, the embassy had to cancel work on the said dates,” the statement said.
The embassy noted the Facebook post had failed to mention that all passport applications on January 4 were processed.
“The embassy personnel dutifully finished all passport transactions on the said date,” it said.

Im from AlKhobar and applied for passport renewal last Nov. 5, 2017. Embassy people were so respectful & accommodating. It took me less than 30 minutes to finish my transaction including absentee voting registration. Salamat po sa inyo dyan sa Phil. Embassy. Kakampi nyo ako.
That’s true I was there in riyadh embassy last January 4 and I experience it how bad is the service of the phil embassy employees for so many passport applicant tbey have only one encoder and they will reason out that the the program was change omg,,,, this happens to me only this year can you imagine I go there in riyadh 1am from here in hufof we arrived there in the Phil embassy riyadh 5:30 am then we enter at around 8 am what time we finished our transaction 6 pm already we are very hungry thirsty and very sleepy then after that we comeback here in hufof to work again, the problem there is the Phil embassy riyadh has lack of encoder not the new computer programming of the d f a mr cayetano we apeal please put action to this problem

Ang katuwiran ng nasa embahada dapat daw may ibidensya? Na dapat binisita nila sa lugar ng makita nila yong OFW dahil yan ang trabaho nila.

I’m 61 years old, had my passport-renewal processed in 30 minutes at the Philippine embassy in Riyadh. Ano pa ba ang hahanapin ko. Kudos to the embassy staff.
I had just renewed my passport last November and I think the Embassy people deserves to be praised not rediculed. Nagkataon lang siguro na marami talaga ang applicants. Pero when it comes to service, okay naman ang Riyadh Embassy.
