A Filipino domestic worker in Hong Kong was forced to wait outside her employers’ apartment for four hours on her rest day because she was not trusted with a key.
On Christmas Day, Mary, who has been working for these employers for six months, was forced to wait outside of their apartment in Tiu Keng Leng, Sai Kung, after spending her rest day with friends, sunwebhk.com reported.
A neighbor saw Mary and let her wait in that apartment because it was cold outside. Mary’s employers finally returned home four hours later. However, she was put to work when they arrived.
The employers have not given Mary a key to the apartment because they do not trust her and have imposed a strict 7pm curfew on her rest days. She said they usually came home late but she still chose to stick to her curfew.
Mary said she did not want to terminate her contract over the matter of not having a key. She said she would put up with these employers until her contract expires, and in the meantime would try to get them to give her a key.

Kagabi ganito nangyari sa akin wala rin akong susi. Hindi sinasagot ang mga cellphone. Nasa lobby pa ako 2 am na kahit intercom di nila sinasagot. Tumawag ako ng police. Ng police na ang nagdoorbell binuksan ang pinto. Nakatulog daw sila. Okay na okay walang pakialam kung nanigas na sa lamig katulong.
Stupidity of the employer…..why hire a helper if you don’t know how to trust….people with this kind of attitude are nuts…..a helper with right thinking will not risk her job for stealing something’s in your house we will not be rich with that….those kind of people always look down helpers hey wait a minute employers we came here to work not to steal ….and we are armed with love and respect so please stop abusing us if we are. Not here so you think your life will be easy?think about it…….

And how come during the weekdays they entrusted us the house key,and why not during our days off..how weird this kind of employers..For me I even bring with me the key during my holiday in the Philippines.

If the employer no trust for their helper and why hired a foreign helper? They should know what is the HK law. Helpers are human and not your SLAVES….we must exercise our rights and not to be treated like the way this employer treats her helper. I don’t agree with this kind of
treatment .
Most idiot employer, in the first place why hiring a maid… government should look this matter,specially to the new helper and specially the 1/2 bowl of rice that mostly employer given rice to the helper

Im lucky of my employer,the tell me the door code,and give me the key for backdoor,and even i dont have curfew i still go home early at 7:00pm.i dont want to abuse their kindness,and we respect each other.THANK U LORD
Why they hire a worker if they don’t trust it? If you don’t trust anybody then don’t dare to keep any valuable things inside your home or dont hire a worker so that no body can touch your home if your not around….or else you carry all the time where ever you go…

Another frend of mine shes suffer with her employer we see each other last saturday shes so thin.. I ask her why u look like that.. she said no food no phone everytime she go off she need to do her job first so she go outside 11 am and comeback before 8 in the evening… And if she go outside need to check her bag first and when she comeback check again…. Why the employer need to check her things… And phone..and why her employer keep her phone… . My gaadd I want to help her but I du know how…… Shes scared with her employer satan…. SHE ENDURED A LOT

My previous employer did not give me key. I need to wait when they go out. The latest time I waited is 11.40. Saddest experience but gave me courage…lesson and now I was challenged..im greatful my present employer is not the same with them

Of course u had no choice even u have the worse employer because the hk laws u need to go back to Phil’s. If terminate your contract and that’s the sad truth
