A 36-year-old pharmacy manager was jailed for eight weeks by a Singapore court after pleading guilty to two counts of indecent assault of a 20-year-old female part-time sales assistant.
At 2pm on September 16, the woman punched the attendance clock in the pharmacy’s store room, where the defendant had been waiting for her, Lianhe Wanbao (Singapore) reported. When she was about to leave, the manager appeared in front of the woman, apologizing to her for forcibly kissing her earlier that month, the court heard.
The defendant appeared to be distraught, prompting the victim to comfort him by giving him a brief hug and patting him on his back.
The manager then asked if he could kiss her again, and when she rejected his request, he went ahead and laid his lips on hers anyway. The victim pushed him off to leave the room, and dashed into the women’s washroom, where she phoned her boyfriend to ask for help.
After the second forced-kissing incident, the victim felt uneasy and resigned three days after.
The defendant, who lost his job over the incident, pleaded guilty and asked the court for leniency, as his wife is a homemaker and they have two children to support.
