A Filipino domestic worker almost burned down her employer’s flat in Hong Kong after she fell asleep while heating water on the stove.
On the evening of November 23, Adel, 39, was heating up water and lemon for something to drink in the morning. However, she fell asleep with the stove on, sunwebhk.com reports.
As the lemon and kettle were starting to burn, Adel’s employer’s teenage daughter fortunately woke up and turned the stove off. She said she had been going to the kitchen to get a drink.
Adel’s employers were in Japan at the time of the incident and returned the next day. Her male employer noticed Adel’s worried expression and asked her what was bothering her. Adel admitted her negligence and asked for their forgiveness.
Her employers forgave her and said that it was normal to forget things. However, the man told her she would be fired if she was working in China.

It’s true it’s happened to me long ago 1999 as I was boiling long soup .the my employer asked to deposit the money in the Bank before it’s closed I quickly go out and worst thing I didn’t even bring my key . . And I came back I don’t have the key I can’t open the door my soup is almost burn I have to call my employer to come back home quick … so some times it’s happened … but it’s lesson for us that make sure all is secured before we leave the house.

Can happen to anyone. But we set a golden rules in the door items to check before leaving home. And the ultimate habits not to let anything in the stoves unattended it’s vitality important for our protection. We leave on the islands and we have to get the ferry so in this case there’s no returning points. But i asked my family in this case to give the address to the fireman’s. Also make sure there is nothing on the stoves before you leave home please. Thanks
It’s not as if shes not responsible we all forget things ones in awhile please do tell me havent you forget any then untill now? If here employer was understanding enough to think she didn’t mean what happen you on the other hand was the opposite of the employer. Nakakainis naman talaga ang mga iba nating kalahi, walang pakialam kung nakakaistorbo sila.Oo nga public place,pero nakakaperwisyo ka.May case na rin na ganito sa Canada, sa sobrang ingay ng mga Pinay, pinuna sila ng isang Canadian na pasahero ng tren.Instead na mag apologize, sila pa galit!
Happened to me few yrs ago. I was boling long soup when my alaga, asked me to go to playground play ball. I forgot to turn off the gas. Luckily, there is this labor man, a close relative of my employer, fixing something inside the house. He turned off the gas but the soup is all burned ang black. I was so scared, but my employer were kind enough to forgive me. Since then, i was so extra carefull. Lesson learned.

True,she is lucky enough ro have a very kind hearted Employer like mine.It was also happened to me last time I reheat my breakfast before going to church (that was sunday) funny it seems bec.I ate my food but I ddnt turn off the gas stove slow fire ,imagine I leave home 10am (my employer leave earlier than me,same when they come back) they arrive home 6pm and notice it.But God is really good knowing i just only put a glass of water but in 8hrs even it was slow fire I guess it can make smoke or the wok will burn,but my maam told me they just see some bubbles in the wok…In this case I really blv.that miracle exist.Thanks God.
