An employer faced a heavy backlash from netizens after she posted a Facebook message criticizing her domestic worker for running up her water bill by bathing too often.
The employer, likely a woman judging from her nickname “Little Cloud,” wrote in a post in Chinese on the Facebook page of Support Group for HK Employers with FDHs that she was angered by her maid bathing at 9pm on Saturday and again early on Sunday before going out for her weekly holiday.
She said such bathing habits would result in a heavy cost burden from her water bill. She also asked other employers in the group whether their domestic workers had similar habits of bathing before and after sleep.
The post was screen-captured and reposted on the Brother-Sister Facebook Club page. Little Cloud was slammed for her unkind comments about her domestic worker.
Many netizens said domestic workers had a right to take a shower when they wished, while any employer who tried to stop them was being unreasonable. Some said Little Cloud should praise her maid for being careful with her personal hygiene.
Taking a shower two or three times a day is normal if it is summer or the indoor ventilation is poor, they said.
Little Cloud was also slammed by netizens for creating a “control freak” image for Hong Kong employers. They added that the Water Supplies Department was providing water to Hong Kong residents at a low price.

Just like now its winter..if u ride a bus or mtr too much bad odoor or smell like a toilet bowl…hhahaha…maybe some of them scared to take a bath…but filipinos is winter or summer we do everyday shower more than 3 times..u should accept that..

Ms little cloud if you don’t want to pay for an extra dollar for your water bill I suggest stop working, do all your housework yourself and don’t hire and FDH in that case you will not pay a thing. Trying to influence others with your unjust judgement is not fair. I feel sorry to your maid whoever she is.
For the attention of Employers: …Really????….Such a big deal Huh!…If you noticed ，we Filipinos took shower before we leave your house during Holidays?…That is because we want to feel clean and smells good mingling with our friends…..We don”t want to feel uncomfortable. ..Just like at home..my employer knows that before i went down marketing ..i must took shower first ..and they dont say a word for that…They respect and trust me in everything at home and I did the same way to them too.
And one.employer.i know they want me to use the water that there kids use to take a bath for washing my clothes. To bad for them cause I’m more clever than they think. They believe that I use it. Hahahaha it of course I’m not that crazy to do it.

This crazy employer nobody would like to work for her in the future. She should be blacklisted too. If you want to save this,save that better don’t hire DH. Do it yourself! You can save your fxxking money. Also use the public toilet too, you can save water and money. Fxxk!

Yup,we do bath 2 or 3 times a day.For Filipinos it’s our daily habit and that’s only normal.We can’t change our clothes,can’t go out,can’t sleep without washing up and change our undies before going to bed and before we start our day.Lucky you Little cloud(that employer) for having a Fil. maid who has a good personal hygiene and that’s we are Filipinos.
