Police arrested two students, from two different schools, for alleged assaults this week.
Sing Pao reports that a 12-year-old boy of British origin was arrested for allegedly punching another student, also aged 12, after a soccer match at King George V School in Kowloon on Wednesday.
It is understood that the injured boy, surnamed Yeung, and his team won the match but that the two sides later got into an argument.
The attacker punched Yeung on the face and broke his glasses, which caused a cut to his right eye. Yeung was sent to St. Teresa’s Hospital and required 20 stitches.
Police arrested the attacker on Tai Mong Tsai Road in Sai Kung, in the New Territories, on Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, Headline Daily reports that police arrested an 11-year-old boy for allegedly pushing his classmate, surnamed Chan, and causing him injury, at Emmanuel Primary School in Sham Tseng, in the New Territories, on Thursday.
The two boys had an argument in the classroom and the attacker pushed Chan, causing him to hit his face on the corner of a table and his nose to start bleeding.
Chan’s mother reported the case to Tsuen Wan Police Station and accompanied Chan to Yan Chai Hospital for medical treatment.
Last week, local media reported on an alleged bullying incident after a pencil eraser was found in the ear of 7-year-old boy in a primary school in Tuen Mun, in the New Territories.
