A 42-year-old Indonesian domestic worker was charged with one count of burglary at Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Apple Daily reports that the defendant, Sri Handayani, is accused of entering a flat in Park Avenue, a residential building in Kowloon’s Tai Kok Tsui, on September 22, with intent to steal.
The court heard that, at an earlier date, the defendant was asked by her employer to take a family member who lives in Park Avenue home. However, she did not return the key, instead keeping it to sneak back into the flat on September 22.
The defendant did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody. Headline Daily reports that the trial will be continued on December 18 pending further police investigations and legal advice.
The reports did not mention any loss caused by the burglary.

Because lot of money they take
Firakui Jenengku Ojokeliru Yea, cause this is not about native or national, its a individual differences .
Geo Shan Sa Exactly, languange is very important
La Mahendradata yea, some employer are like that, but they dont know that without thier maids they wont do anything for what they have today.
Don’t anyhow say abaut other people specialy nationality. Become thief is not where they come from but is attitude.
Geo Shan Sa if you don’t know exactly the problem was going on don’t judge her like that… doesn’t matter from where could be happened also from your country also has same problem too…
Firakui Jenengku Ojokeliru Enough..
Wow..im amazed????your right! Most Filipina who worked as D.H here in hk was well educated and degree holders in the Philippines..Hope can fight justice for this co worker Indonesian.
,,Or the employer asked the helper to clean the relatives house, that’s why she kept the key..just saying
What do you expect ? Mostly of the employer think they are superior…they are inconsiderate & suspicious all the time. They just think about themselves and for their convenience.
I have a Indonesian friend before and she do really steal from her employer I’ve warn her and tell her to stop. But it seems like she very confident with her action. Things she steel are red pocket money, old phone that are stuck for a long time, beauty product and the last one was money and she was so proud and told us that she got it from her ma’am wallet. I don’t know where she is now we haven’t seen her for a long time. But I swear she has shown no fear about stealing. And I was like what the ****????
Asia times you are not fair if good deeds done by the helpers you did not put the name and nationality. But if bad but not yet proven as guilty you put the complete name and nationality.Pls be fair
It was her fault not return the key to her employer , and since I don’t know what’s her intension come back to that house,, she was accused of stealing but the report didn’t said what’s was lost, I hope she’s fine
JheeKnee AbLang Borja thanks for your comments
Shei Ilarde Cepe im living with Filipino for two years, she’s not good towards me or our employer but I never said that Filipino is bad,coz I know there many other still good,so don’t judge everyone character just because of one person doing something bad,if u know what I mean, thanks
Ms.Shei sorry for commenting but ms firakui was insulted coz of the comments above thats why she said it like that!maybe nxt time don’t say words that hurt someone if you don’t like that they will throw it back to you!
The housemaid maybe have fault but so as the employer!!!
She clearly knew that the housemaid didn’t return the key for whatever reason, why didn’t she ask for it?
Cruz Mejasco Mariel well said sister…
Language is not a hindrance or a problem if they give her an interpreter so that she can explain and defend her side. Or maybe they just listen only to the victim not the accuser??? We really don’t know whats happened.
What th heck the employers are! ,just forgot to return the key,! She’s be charged of burglary? A suppect remain a suspect until proven guilty! Due process should apply!
