A 42-year-old Indonesian domestic worker was charged with one count of burglary at Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Apple Daily reports that the defendant, Sri Handayani, is accused of entering a flat in Park Avenue, a residential building in Kowloon’s Tai Kok Tsui, on September 22, with intent to steal.
The court heard that, at an earlier date, the defendant was asked by her employer to take a family member who lives in Park Avenue home. However, she did not return the key, instead keeping it to sneak back into the flat on September 22.
The defendant did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody. Headline Daily reports that the trial will be continued on December 18 pending further police investigations and legal advice.
The reports did not mention any loss caused by the burglary.
If only giving the key will solve her problem and free her from accusation. My friends had accused stole their employer things, such as handhpone, watch, n jewelry, but they proven clean. Their employer forgot where they kept it. And they never even say sorry for their wrongly accused. Just becos they are boss, they hv money so they can threat us as they like.
Is not a big issue because dont have things lost inside the house of her employer.we dont have right to judge to any person because all is not same.by the way i have more friends indo and i notice all is good even sometimes cant speak clear english but we can understand each other.and mistake of her employer because she dont have trust of her helper.only god knows all about happend just we put in our mind we are all same because we both same we are a human.

You are right…stealing is not because you are Filipino or Indonesians…there are different people in ths world…it just happen to ths news and this country that their helpers are either Indo or Fil..so they call them thief..sad to say…
And im just wondering if is she really a burglar? She might went back to the house for other reasons ( forgot something or just want to return the key?) Then just accused her? This news is not in whole details so we don’t really know………

For my understanding… the employer ask the helper to send the family member in the flat but she did not gave back the key afterwards and few days later she get in the house with out their knowledge that is already against the law. no wonder she got into trouble. It’s very clear that she is up to something.
