India’s Supreme Court on Monday refused to intervene in the Gorakhpur hospital 0xygen death tragedy, directing that grievances must be raised before the Allahabad High Court, according to media reports. Last week, about 6o children died, most of them infants in the neonatal intensive care unit.
The parents of the deceased say the deaths were caused by BRD Medical College Hospital’s oxygen supply being cut off by its vendor after the institution failed to pay its bill, a claim the hospital denies.
