A mobile phone video of a local woman swearing at a Filipino woman on a bus has gone viral on social media.
A Filipina posted the video on Facebook on Sunday showing a Hong Kong woman, wearing sunglasses beside her on a seat on the lower floor of a double-decker bus to Kwai Chung, swearing at her in Cantonese and asking her to go back to the Philippines.
This started after the Filipina got on the bus and sat next to the local woman, who did not move her bag out of the way, so the seats seemed a bit tight.
All of a sudden the local woman started swearing at her – admitting that she was a racist and did not like the Filipina.
She said the Filipina could only use an outdated iPhone and would not be able to compensate her if she broke her new Samsung Galaxy S8 phone.
The Filipina remained calm and polite throughout the incident and asked the woman to speak English. Her reply: “F**k you.”
The local woman only stopped speaking after several passengers asked her to calm down and restrain herself in a public area.
The Filipina quietly took a video of the woman, then posted it on Facebook. She said the woman called her fat and said she should go back to her homeland. She described the woman as disrespectful, racist and judgmental.
As of Wednesday morning, the clip had received 6,000 likes and had been shared by 8,000 times, after local papers wrote about it on Tuesday.
Most netizens slammed the local woman for her harsh words and discriminating against domestic workers. Some said she might have some kind of mental illness.
One Hong Kong citizen apologized to the Filipino woman on behalf of local people, saying that the woman’s insulting remarks did not represent the opinion of local people.
rude , racist, uneducated, no manners, judgemental…..if you dont want that somebody seat beside you better buy your own car. You can’t avoid in public transport that somebody seat beside you guys…..alot of people here in this corner have that kind of attitude. God bless to that chinese woman

I had a very bad experienced when i was in Hongkong 5 years ago before i moved here in US,i bought square pants at the chinese small store at( Ally ally as they call it) along Central. The chinese lady grab the pants in my hand and shouted me in cantonese.it means i will not sale it to a filipina,go away.i was shocked and angry but my friend pulled me out on that store and told me to ignore it.not all chinese but some are crazy stupid.my previous chinese employer are very nice people.until now we still have communication and the kids is a succesful doctor already.they were blessed because they have a good heart..

If she has a mental sickness , meaning almost half hongkong citizens are having mental problem , I lived in Hongkong for almost 18 years , this is very common behavior specially from lower class society . Verbally abused people is one of their talents .
I have experienced worse from local Taxi drivers . They were lucky I didn’t record it down because my hands are holding my baby .

My 5 years old son was pushed away brutally when he bump into one local around 50 years man at the bakery in causeway bay .
I picked up my son n asked the man to stand still as I was calling 999.But he ran away fast .
to local people we are different because of our colour , even I am not a maid . They think all Indonesian and filipino are domestic helper .
I am very glad one of this kind video is published here . Lesson to learn n improve
I used to cried and feel sad when things happened to me . Now lnstead of got upset or trying change others special who claimed n protect them selves by saying having mental problem .
I changed my perception
