A 39-year-old Filipino domestic worker was arrested on Friday for allegedly stealing a diamond ring from her employer in Lam Tin in Kowloon.

At 8:45am, a 39-year-old Hong Kong woman called police and said her maid had stolen a diamond ring worth HK$30,000 (US$3,843) from a flat on Block 19 of Laguna City, Sing Tao Daily reported.

The employer called the police. After investigating, police arrested the maid for suspected theft. She remains in custody, the Oriental Daily reported.

Police are still investigating the matter, which they have categorized as theft.
