The 24-year-old son of police officers jumped to his death from a Mid-Levels flat in Central early on Sunday morning, a day before he was meant to start training at Hong Kong Police College.
The body of the man, whose father is a retired chief superintendent and mother is a superintendent, was found on the car park platform in Fairmont Gardens, a government-owned property, in Conduit Road at around 3:30am, Am730 reported. He was scheduled to have his first day in the police college on Monday.
He was suffering from depression, Sing Tao Daily reported, citing an unnamed source. Police did not find any suicide note and did not suspect foul play.
