A 39-year-old Filipina domestic worker jumped to her death from a shopping mall in Yuen Long in New Territories West at lunch time on Wednesday.
At around 12:30pm, the Filipina was initially seen lingering on the podium of the five-story YOHO Mall Phase l, Apple Daily reported.
Some passers-by called the police, but she managed to get through the security fence and fell 20 meters to the ground near a bicycle lane along the Castle Peak Road.
She had been conscious on the ground, but was pronounced dead after at the hospital.
The maid was upset due to family matters, Oriental Daily reported, citing an unnamed source.
No suicide note was found the police is looking into the incident.

Yes, sometimes family in the Philippines give us burden because they don’t understand our situation here as a Domestic helper.They may think that were here doing vacation because they saw on Facebook how happy we are but it just only to let them know that we’re just fine.But in our actual situation they don’t know and they cannot even help us here.They always ask money…But life is full of struggle,trials and problems but never lose hope God is with us carry us and in every problem there is a solution.Why kababayan nagawa mo yan���.
