A 39-year-old Filipina domestic worker jumped to her death from a shopping mall in Yuen Long in New Territories West at lunch time on Wednesday.
At around 12:30pm, the Filipina was initially seen lingering on the podium of the five-story YOHO Mall Phase l, Apple Daily reported.
Some passers-by called the police, but she managed to get through the security fence and fell 20 meters to the ground near a bicycle lane along the Castle Peak Road.
She had been conscious on the ground, but was pronounced dead after at the hospital.
The maid was upset due to family matters, Oriental Daily reported, citing an unnamed source.
No suicide note was found the police is looking into the incident.
