A 38-year-old Filipina domestic worker was charged 0n Tuesday, at the Kwun Tong Magistrates’ Courts in Hong Kong’s Kowloon district, with one count of child abuse.
Apple Daily reports that the defendant, Gina Cannu Buduan, is accused of abusing a two-year-old girl in October this year at a flat in Tseung Kwan O, in the city’s New Territories.
The court heard that the woman’s female employer found red spots on her two-year-old daughter’s private parts. It is alleged that the domestic worker tried to put a vibrator on the girl’s private parts.
The defendant had worked in Hong Kong since 2016.
Oriental Daily reports that the judge postponed the trial until December 13 and ordered detailed medical reports from the prosecutor. The judge also rejected a bail application from the accused, who was remanded in custody. She was not asked to make a plea.
I am thankful for hongkong government laws and the labour,that they managed not to believe of the accusations against my kababayan,so how will be then the future of the helper,I’m just concern for I believed that she has also dependents back to Philippines????
Aldeza Jkh there are lots of stories.. in the news is the employers version… and that is also the story she is telling other employers..its realy unfair because the news publish only the employers story they did not publish the helpers version, and they even put the helpers full name which is innocent(untill proven guilty)… . and some source said she doesnt have a husband anymore, that is why she got a toy…

I hope not another flor contemplacion story, its so sad we came abroad to give our family a better future not to end our life and make our children lost a mother, let us all pray for her….
I don’t think the helper can do that thing to the toddler that she is looking after. Filipino helpers go abroad to work and earn for the sake of their family’s future. They do all what they can to love their work. They believe in establishing good relationship to every member of the family they serve to be able keep their job and actually make the working days easy. So in that description of a helper, she won’t do such crazy thing like that. She is as innocent as haven’t seen any toy like that. How much more how to use it ??? Kids are naturally born curious. Like the saying " monkey see, monkey do". And I don’t think the toddler saw that from the helper. Actually helpers works 18 hours/ day. Basically no extra time for doin other stuff. If ever, there is vacant time, they prefer to call their family back home or mainly rest or sleep. Justice for the helper and I strongly believe she didn’t do whatever she was accused for. Investigate and be fair. The world is watching and please don’t destroy somebody’s lives through biased judgement. Be strong Ms B.
