قتل دبلوماسي تركي وشخص آخر مدني أمس الأربعاء في هجوم مسلح داخل مطعم بمدينة أربيل عاصمة إقليم كردستان العراق، بحسب تصرحات مسئوليين بالإقليم ووزارة لخارجية التركية.
لم تعلن أي جهة مسئوليتها عن الحادث إلا أن الحكومة التركية والحزب الديمقراطي الكردستاني الحاكم في أربيل كانا اتهما حزب العمال الكردستاني الذي يقود حركة تمرد ضد الحكومة التركية في جنوب شرق تركيا في حوادث مشابهة.
جاء الهجوم في المدينة التي لا تشهد عادة حوادث عنف في أعقاب إعلان تركيا لعمليات عسكرية جديدة ضد الميليشيات الكردية شمال العراق. كان قصف جوي شنته القوات التركية على المنطفة يوم الأربعاء تسبب في مقتل سبعة من أعضاء حزب العمال الكردستاني.
توعدت الرئاسة التركية في بيان بالرد على “من نفذوا هذا الهجوم الغادر.”
وبحسب شهود عيان لوكالة رويترز، دخل منفذ الهجوم وفتح النار في المطعم بعد وصول عدد من العاملين بالقنصلية التركية مباشرة ثم هرب في سيارة منتظرة بالخارج. أصيب شخص ثالث في الهجوم.
