Four people, including two Vietnamese women, have been arrested and charged with working illegally, possessing a false instrument and prostitution in Macau.
The first case involved a 31-year-old Vietnamese woman who was arrested on May 30 for allegedly engaging in prostitution in Cotai during an anti-crime raid, Macao Daily News reported.
Police intercepted the woman, who had a migrant worker visa, when she solicited a customer on the street. After an investigation, it was discovered that the woman was introduced to a 40-year-old Macau man last November who applied for the migrant working visa for her. In return, she provided free sex services to him twice.
The woman stayed in Macau and worked as a part-time cleaner and sex worker, but she never worked for the man. Both the woman and the man were sent to the public prosecution office for alleged possession of false instruments.
The second case involved a Vietnamese woman aged about 20 who paid 18,000 Macau patacas (US$2,223) to a 50-year-old Macau woman to get a migrant worker visa as a domestic worker. The woman reportedly had never gone to the man’s home in Zona Nova de Aterros do Porto Exterior, or NAPE to work.
