من جانبها قالت وزارة الصحة السودانية أن عدد قتلى أحداث العنف لم يتجاوز 46، بحسب وكالة السودان للأنباء.
كانت قوات الأمن السودانية اقتحمت الاعتصام القائم أمام مقر القيادة العسكرية في العاصمة الخرطوم منذ شهرين فجر الإثنين واستخدمت الرصاص الحي لتفريق المعتصمين، بحسب المعارضة السودانية.
تعرقلت المفاوضات منذ إزاحة الرئيس السابق عمر البشير عن الحكم أبريل/نيسان الماضي بين المجلس العسكري الانتقالي والمعارضة السودانية التي استمرت في الاعتصام مطالبة بتسليم السلطة لحكومة مدنية.
توقفت المفاوضات بين الطرفين في أعقاب أعمال العنف هذا الأسبوع وأعلن المجلس الانتقالي عن نيته عقد انتخابات لتسليم السلطة خلال تسعة أشهر، وهو ما اعتبرته المعارضة محاولة لخداع القوى الثورية.
