أثارت تصيحات شيخ الأزهر أحمد الطيب عن إباحة ضرب الزوجة في بعض الحالات استيا مستخدمي مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي والمدافعين عن حقوق المرأة.
وكان شيخ الأزهر قال عبر برنامجه الذي يعرض يومياً في شهر رمضان أن القرآن يبيح ضرب الزوجة “الناشز” فقط بهدف “كسر كبرياءها” وليس بهدف العدوان.
وقال الطيب أن القرآن ظُلم في مسألة ضرب الزوجة حيث يعتقد البعض أنه يبيح الاعتداء على النساء. وشرح الطيب أن الضرب لغير “الزوجة الناشز”، التي عرفها بأنها تتكبر على زوجها، غير مباح في أي حالة.
قال الشيخ: “الضرب يستخدم كعلاج لكسر كبرياء المرأة الناشز ولا يعقل أن نقول أن هذا لا يجوز حتى تتمادى وتقلب المعبد على رأسها.”
وشرح الشيخ أن الدين في هذه الحالة يتيح “أخف الضررين” للحفاظ على الأسرة من الانهيار.
تتعارض التصريحات الأخيرة لشيخ الأزهر، وهو أعلى سلطة سنية في العالم مع الاحتفاء به كشيخ مستنير في السنوات الأخيرة بسبب بعض مواقفه الداعمة للمرأة والداعية للتسامح مع الآخر، مثل موقفه ضد التحرش الجنسي.
