베트남 여성이 최근 노래방에서 한국 남성들을 상대로 성매매를 알선한 혐의로 유죄판결을 받아 징역 3년을 선고받았다.
VP 익스프레스지에 따르면 응우옌 치 창(27세)이란 이 여성은 작년 10월 경찰이 한 호텔에서 한국 남성들과 성관계를 한 여성들을 체포할 때 같이 붙잡혔다. 체포된 여성들은 경찰에 응우옌이 성매매를 알선했다고 털어놓았다.
응우옌은 자신이 하노이 남 뚜리엠(Nam Tu Liem)에 있는 보물섬 노래방에서 여종업원 관리와 손님 접대 업무를 담당했다고 말했다. 여종업원 중 일부는 노래방을 찾은 손님들로부터 돈을 받고 그들과 잠자리를 같이 했다.
노래방 주인은 한국 남성(45세)으로, 그는 자신은 성매매 사실에 대해서 전혀 몰랐다며 개입 혐의를 전면 부인했다.
노래방 영업권은 베트남 남성(36)이 갖고 있었는데, 그는 경찰에 베트남에선 외국인들이 노래방을 운영할 수 없어 한국 남성을 도와주려고 영업권을 빌려준 것뿐이라고 말했다.
당국은 두 남성을 기소하지 않았다.
베트남에선 성매매업 종사자에겐 벌금만 부과되지만, 포주는 구속될 수 있다.
