A Filipino man was arrested for carrying bullets in a train station in Quezon City in the Philippines.
On Wednesday morning at the North Avenue Station, Don Ray Adina, 36, was found to be carrying one magazine and eight pieces of 10 millimeter ammunition inside his backpack after they were detected by the baggage scanner, GMA News reported.
Adina was apprehended by the station’s security guards and is currently under the custody of the Philippine National Police. Adina will be charged with violating Republic Act 10590, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and the Omnibus Election Code.
The suspect did not state his reason for carrying the ammunition. The police are currently investigating the case.
The Department of Transportation reminded passengers not to carry firearms, ammunition and other weapons inside train stations, and noted that strict security measures will continue to be implemented at train stations to ensure the safety of the passengers.
