توفى كمال الدين الفخار، الطبيب والرئيس السابق لفرع غرداية للرابطة الجزائرية للدفاع عن حقوق الإنسان، الثلاثاء في مستشفى البليدة بالجزائر بعد إضرابه عن الطعام لمدة 50 يوم احتجاجاً على القبض عليه.

كان الحقوقي بدأ إضراب عن الطعام منذ القبض عليه في 31 مارس/ آذار بسبب منشورات كتبها على حسابه على فيسبوك، بحسب منظمة العفو الدولية.

قالت نجية بونعيم، مديرة الحملات لشمال أفريقيا بمنظمة العفو الدولية في بيان: “ما كان ينبغي أن يسجن كمال الدين في المقام الأول، وإن وفاته في السجن تُلزم السلطات الجزائرية بإجراء مراجعة دقيقة في طريقة تعامل السلطات معه، والتي لديها سجل حافل بانتهاكات حقوق الإنسان”.

أثارت وفاة الفخار غضب المعارضة الجزائرية التي اتهمت السلطات باعتقاله ظلماً والإهمال في رعايته الطبية.

كان فخار قضى عامين قيد الاحتجاز في 2015 بتهم عديدة منها “المساس بأمن الدولة والدعوة إلى التمرد المسلح والدعوة إلى انفصال ولاية غرداية عن الدولة الجزائرية” ثم أعتقل مجدداً منذ شهرين بتهمة “المساس بهيئة رسمية”، بحسب فرانس 24.
