Two men were arrested by Indonesian police on April 13 after one allegedly threatened a police officer with a machete.
A police officer dressed in casual clothes was going down a road near the Tanah Abang Market in Central Jakarta when he saw the two acting in suspiciously on a motorcycle, The Jakarta Post reported. The officer followed the two, who sped up, prompting him to give chase. He managed to stop them at an overpass on Jalan KH Mas Mansyur.
One of the men jumped off the bike and threatened the officer up with a machete, while asking for his valuables. The moment the officer revealed his identity the duo tried to flee, but then decided to surrender when the officer reprimanded them.
The two are being held at the Tanah Abang police station. Their motorcycle, as well as the machete, were confiscated.
