A mother in China is being criticized after a video of her kicking her young daughter surfaced online and went viral on social media.
A 10-second video of the mother kicking her daughter’s behind sparked outrage on Chinese social media, with some able to track down the family and send threatening messages to the mother.
The little girl turned out to be Niu Niu, a successful child model in China. Rumors started to surface on the net, suggesting that the mother kicked the girl because she was not satisfied with the girl’s performance during a photoshoot.
Local news were able to get in touch with a clothing shop owner who claimed the mother did not care about her daughter being overworked.
The mother then came out and clarified that she had kicked her daughter after the little girl ran onto the road when it was getting dark. She then defended her actions by saying that no parent can claim they have never hit their child.
Despite her defense, people online continued to blast her, with some even going as far as deeming her unfit of being a parent. They have also made it clear that instead of wasting her efforts in apologizing to the public, she should really be making things right with her young daughter.
