An Indonesian domestic caregiver in Changhua County, Taiwan, was allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted by a Taiwanese man who had offered her help in finding a job.

The authorities began to investigate reports on social media of a man, surnamed Huang, who was suspected of taking advantage of migrant workers, The United Daily News reported.

The Changhua police tracked down and approached the victim, who had reportedly been in Taiwan for less than two weeks, and who gave them a statement.

Police learned that the Indonesian was looking for work, and had sought help from Huang at his home in Xianxi, Changhua. During her first visit to Huang’s home, she was given something to drink, and shortly after lost consciousness.

When she woke up, she was naked and suspected that she had been sexually assaulted.

Huang was invited by police to assist in their investigation. The report did not mention if any charges had been made against him.
