A 57-year-old Indonesian domestic worker in Taichung, Taiwan, who was found on a floor unconscious inside the bathroom of the employer’s home on Friday afternoon, was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
At 4 pm on March 1, Anita reportedly fainted while she was working in the bathroom of her employer’s home on Chengdu Road in Xitun district in Taichung City, The China Daily News reported. The employer immediately called police for assistance.
Officers sent the unconscious worker to the China Medical University Hospital on Yude Road in North district where she was pronounced dead despite efforts at resuscitation. The worker’s niece, a domestic caregiver in Taipei, was shocked to learn of the sudden death of her aunt who had been considered to be a healthy individual with no known history of medical illnesses.
The cause of death will be determined by the coroner in a post-mortem examination.
