A restaurant in Vietnam was fined earlier this month after it was caught overcharging tourists. On February 7, a group of 14 tourists from China went to a seafood restaurant on Pham Van Dong Street in Nha Trang, where they received a bill for 16.5 million dong (US$710), VN Express reported.

The tourists were told it cost 250,000 dong for plates of fried melon and fried spinach, which normally sell for no more than 100,000 dong. According to authorities, the restaurant menu had prices for all dishes except the two the tourists ordered.

Meanwhile, a group of Malaysian tourists was also overcharged for a meal at a restaurant in Nha Trang. Authorities temporarily shut down the establishment as they continued investigations. The tourism department of Nha Trang was ordered in 2016 to publish a list of establishments that were found to have overcharged their customers.
