Ang apat na pamilyang Pilipino at isang kaibigan ng pamilya ay namatay matapos bumangga ang kanilang sasakyan sa isang puno sa Delano, California. Noong Sabado ng gabi, si Jalson Laguta, 46, ay nagmamaneho ng isang sport-utility vehicle at nasa northbound sa Highway 99 nang nawalan ito ng kontrol sa kalsada. Pagkatapos ng pagbangga sa isang puno, ang SUV ay nasunog, namatay ang lahat ng sakay nito , iniulat ng BakersfieldNow.

Kinumpirma ng tanggapan ng Coroner ng Kern county noong Lunes ang pagkilala sa mga kaswalti. Si Laguta ay kasama ang kanyang asawang si Arlene, ang kanilang mga anak na sina Caleb, 7, at si Jose, pitong buwan, at isang kaibigan ng pamilya, Danilo Salidad, 60.

Ayon sa mga kamag-anak, ang pamilya ni Laguta ay pabalik sa bahay nila mula sa simbahan nang mangyari ang aksidente. Nais ng mga miyembro ng pamilya na dalhin ang kanilang mga labi pabalik sa Pilipinas.

Sinabi ng pulisya na ang sanhi ng pag-crash ay hindi pa rin alam, kabilang kung ang mga gamot o alkohol ay isang kadahilanan. Ang California Highway Patrol ay sinisiyasat ang insidente at nagpapatakbo ng regular check sa mga sasakyan.
