Isang Pilipinong nars sa Saudi Arabia ang nasuspinde mula sa trabaho matapos na masisi para sa isang paghahalo sa pagitan ng dalawang bagong panganak na sanggol sa isang ospital sa Jeddah.
Ayon sa mga opisyal ng ospital, nagpapakita ng footage ng seguridad ang Filipina nurse na si Gina (hindi ang kanyang tunay na pangalan) ang tanging nars na may tungkulin sa panahon na ang paglipat ay maaaring mangyari. Si Gina ay inakusahan ng kapabayaan sa insidente at nasuspinde mula sa trabaho, iniulat ng GMA News.
Gayunpaman, sinabi ng Filipina na isa siya sa dalawang nars sa panahon ng shift. Sinabi ni Gina na ang insidente ay nangyari sa kanyang huling araw ng trabaho bago siya ay dapat bumalik sa Pilipinas, ngunit natapos na ang suspensyon upang gumawa ng paraan para sa isang pagsisiyasat.
Sinabi ni Gina na ang kaso ay maitataas sa Ministry of Health ng Saudi, kaya humingi siya ng tulong mula sa Kaagapay ng Bawat OFW, isang grupo ng mga karapatan ng manggagawa, na Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
Si James Mendiola, isang welfare officer sa OWWA, ay nagsabi na ang mga ina ng dalawang bagong panganak ay nagpasiya na huwag ituloy ang kaso at sa halip ay humingi ng refund sa kanilang gastusin sa ospital.
Sinabi ni Mendiola na kailangang magbayad ang Filipina ng 10,000 riyals (humigit-kumulang 138,800 pesos o US$2,650).
Ang Labor Attache na si Nasser Munder ay nagsabi na makipag-ayos siya sa ospital upang subukang makakuha si Gina kalayaan sa obligasyon.
