A Filipino nurse won 100,000 dirhams (US$27,229) in cash by spinning the Million Dirham Wheel campaign during the Dubai Shopping Festival.

Angela Mortos, a nurse who moved to the UAE five years ago, entered the raffle by spending a total of 2,000 dirhams on several visits to City Centre Mirdif during the Dubai Shopping Festival, Gulf News reported.

Mortos became eligible to join the Million Dirham Wheel campaign where she won the 100,000 dirhams jackpot, which is equivalent to 1.4 million pesos. Mortos said although she did not win a million dirhams, she became an instant millionaire in her home country.

“I couldn’t believe it at first, but when it sunk in, I was happy and overwhelmed all at once,” Mortos said.

The Filipina nurse said she will give a portion of the prize money to a janitor in the building she lives in. She said she wants to be a blessing to the man who greets her every morning. She also wants to use a part of the money to fix her her deceased parents’ resting place back in the Philippines.

“They died about 10 years ago and their graves need attention. So, this is definitely something the money will go towards,” she said.

  1. You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something that I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and extremely broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!

However, what about this? what if you were to
create a awesome headline? I mean, I don’t want to tell you how to
run your website, however suppose you added a headline that grabbed
folk’s attention? I mean Nurse wins 100,000 dirhams in Dubai mall raffle –
Asia Times is kinda boring. You might peek at Yahoo’s home page and see how
they create news titles to grab viewers to click.
You might add a video or a pic or two to grab people interested
about everything’ve got to say. Just my opinion, it might make
your posts a little bit more interesting.
