Ang lalaking Pilipino na inaresto sa California sa Estados Unidos ay inakusahan ng pananaksak sa kanyang sariling ina hanggang sa ito’y mamatay.
Noong Enero 10, nakatanggap ng isang tawag mula sa suspek na si Michael Ablaza, 25, na natagpuan niya ang kanyang ina na si Maribeth Ablaza, 52 na unresponsive sa kanilang bahay.
Nang dumating ang mga awtoridad, ang babae ay sinabing patay na, iniulat ng Mercury News.
Natagpuan ang biktima na nakahiga sa isang sopa, na nagpapakita ng mga sugat at saksak sa kanyang katawan at mga bisig. Natagpuan ng mga imbestigador ang mas marami pang sugat sa kanyang likod at kwelyo.
Sinabi ni Ablaza na wala siya sa kanilang bahay buong araw at ng siya’y umuwi, nakita niya ang kanilang pinto ay naka-unlock at patay na ang kanyang ina.
Ayon sa pulisya, walang mga palatandaan ng break-in o pagnanakaw. Nang sumunod na araw, naaresto si Ablaza at kinulong sa Santa Clara County Jail sa suspetsa ng pagpatay. Siya ay ikukulong nang walang piyansa.
Sinabi ng San Jose Police Officer na si Gina Tepoorten na kinilala ng mga homicide detectives na si Ablaza ang taong responsable sa pagpatay. Sinabi nila na ito ang unang kaso homicide sa lungsod ngayong taon.
Sinabi ng mga detektib na ang mga sinalaysay ni Ablaza na diumano’y pagtuklas sa katawan ng kanyang ina ay hindi tumutugma. Mayroon din siyang mga gasgas sa kanyang kanang braso, na pinaghihinalaan nilang galing ang mga sugat na ito sa kanyang ina na nagtanggol sa sarili laban sa kanya.
Napagalaman din nila na si Ablaza ay mayroong hindi pagkakaunawaan sa kanyang ina. Nagkaroon din ng mga bakas ng dugo sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng bahay, na sinasabing isang paglilinis muna ang ginawa bago sila tinawag sa pinangyarihan.
