The daughter of a Filipino migrant worker was found dead in her home after suffering fatal stab wounds and a head injury in Davao Occidental in the Philippines.

Jane Masucol, 18, was stabbed 20 times in different parts of her body and her head crushed with a hammer. Masucol was found dead in her house on Saturday morning in Barangay Mamacao, Santa Maria, GMA News reported.

Police identified the suspected killer as Wangyo Tribunal, a friend of Masucol who was thought to have raped the victim before killing her.

Tribunal was arrested after Masucol’s body was found. But he denied raping the victim and claimed he just wanted to scare Masucol to get back at her for teasing him.

Police said a forensic examination showed that the victim was not raped.

The police are continuing to investigation the woman’s death. They said the victim’s mother, who is a Filipino migrant worker, is set to return home to the Philippines in coming days.
