A 55-year-old Hong Kong man was found guilty in the High Court on Wednesday of rape and indecent assault of a newly employed Indonesian domestic worker.

Tsang Wai-sun hired the 28-year-old victim, identified only as “X”, to take care of his mentally disabled daughter.

Tsang was found guilty of crimes committed from December 10 to 18 in 2017 at an apartment in Wong Tai Sin Estate in Kowloon, Oriental Daily reported.

The court heard that the victim was asked by Tsang to share a bed with his daughter and to not lock the door. She said she was molested by Tsang on the first day she reported for duty.

Tsang later indecently assaulted and raped her on three other occasions.

Earlier, Tsang defended himself in the court, claiming the domestic worker seduced him by giving him a hug and touching his private part.

However, the jury of six men and one woman rejected his story. After nine hours of deliberation, they found him guilty of all four charges.

When the judge read the verdict, Tsang got emotional. He wailed and yelled “It’s not true, unfair, unjust, ridiculous” while punching the witness stand and banging his head on a table.

Tsang was eventually escorted out of the courtroom by seven correctional service officers.

Judge Patrick Li Hon-leung adjourned the case till March 5 for sentencing.
