A 19-year-old Hong Kong man was arrested for allegedly drink driving after he crashed a Porsche sports car into a coffee shop in Sheung Wan on Hong Kong Island on Thursday.

At 3am, when the man surnamed Leung was driving a Porsche 911 Carrera sports car along Queen’s Road Central, the car went out of control at the junction of Wellington Street and crashed into the front of a coffee shop, Oriental Daily reported.

The blue Porsche mounted a kerb and embedded itself in the coffee shop, which appeared to have been seriously damaged by the impact. Debris and broken glass were scattered around the scene of the accident.

The driver suffered injuries to his hands and head, but was able to get out of the wrecked vehicle by himself.

Police conducted a breath test and found that Leung had a level of 65mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood. The legal limit is 55mg per 100ml of blood.

Officers arrested the man for alleged drink driving and sent him to hospital for medical treatment.
