A young Filipino worker in Ajman in the United Arab Emirates has died after falling from the third floor of a building late last week.
The Philippines’ Department of Foreign Affairs said the 22-year-old woman fell from the third floor of a building on Friday, GMA News reported.
The Filipina was rushed to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital, where she was declared dead upon arrival.
The department did not disclose information on the Filipina’s identity or where she is from.
Paul Raymund Cortes, consul general at the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, said officials were speaking to local authorities about the investigation into the Filipina’s death.
“Consul General Cortes said the Consulate General is in touch with the relatives of the deceased and is closely coordinating with Ajman authorities on the investigation into her death and the repatriation of her remains,” DFA said.
Inquiries into the circumstances of the Filipina’s death are ongoing, they said.
Ajman is one of seven emirates, or states, in the UAE. The city has a population of about a quarter of a million people.
