A 53-year-old foreign man was injured when his car ran off the road and went down a slope as he tried to avoid a wild boar on Peak Road on Hong Kong Island on Wednesday.
At about noon, the man was driving his sports car along Peak Road and claimed he saw a wild boar near 84 Peak Road, the Oriental Daily reported.
He claimed he swerved to avoid hitting the pig and lost control of his car, hit the sidewalk and went down a slope. The vehicle came to halt 20 meters down the slope after hitting a number of trees.
The driver was trapped in the car and passers-by called police. Firemen and paramedics soon arrived.
It took six rescuers using ropes to pull the man on a stretcher out of the woods. He suffered injuries to his head and ears and was sent to Queen Mary hospital in a conscious state.
