The Ministry of Commerce is confident the nation will maintain a steady momentum of trade, said Gao Feng, spokesman for the ministry, responding to the escalating trade war with China and the US, Xinhua news agency reported.

“We will continue to improve the level of trade facilitation, and in accordance with the WTO rules, we will issue policy measures in a targeted manner to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of various enterprises including foreign-invested enterprises in China,“ said Gao.

”At the same time, we will do our best to run the first China International Import Expo and actively expand imports to better meet the needs of domestic enterprises and residents,” Gao added.

Beneficial from China’s further opening up policies, the United States, the United Kingdom and other countries have increased their investment in the country and injected new vitality into the development of China’s foreign trade enterprises.

In the first seven months of this year, China has added 35,239 newly establish foreign-invested enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 99.1%.
