A Filipino migrant worker has died while waiting for his unpaid salary and benefits owed to him by his employer in Saudi Arabia.

Larry Rancap, who worked as an diesel mechanic for 25 years at a trading and contracting company, died in a hospital due to lung cancer and was not given assistance by his company , GMA News reported.

According to Rancap’s daughter Lennylen Rancap Ongkiatco, her father had not been paid for two years and had not been given his end-of-contract benefits.

“The company said they did not have money. My father was really neglected and was left to die,” Ongkiatco said.

Rancap’s colleagues had appealed to the company to help him, but there was no response to their appeal. The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration would provide benefits and assistance to Rancap’s family in the Philippines.

His remains will soon be returned to the Philippines, Ongkiatco said.
