In a bid to boost the number of visitors from Southeast Asia, Taiwan will launch a tourism promotion film in August featuring four internet celebrities from the Muslim world.

Mira Filzah – a popular actress and TV host in Malaysia – Yasamin Redzuan, Sharifah Rose and Aisha Liyana, all Malaysian social media stars specializing in fashion and cosmetics, took up an invitation from the Tourism Bureau to film “Salam Taiwan – Taiwan welcomes you,” Focus Taiwan News Channel reported.

Filzah would also be the spokesperson for the campaign to promote tourism in Taiwan to Muslims in 2018.

In the video, they visit tourist attractions in Taipei, including the Taipei 101 skyscraper, Yangmingshan National Park, Ximending shopping district, Shilin Night Market and several theme parks and tourist farms, as well as Halal-certified restaurants.

The trailer will be aired on television, in movie theaters, on outdoor bulletin boards and the internet in Malaysia and Brunei, both fast-growing markets. Malaysia has been the sixth largest source of foreign visitors to Taiwan, with a record 528,019 Malaysian tourists in 2017, up 11.3% from 474,420 in 2016.
